Show #3 - Track Attack! |
Navigation |
Tue, 07/03/2007 - 3:51pm — admin
Track Days aren't just for racers anymore... Street riders can explore the capabilities of both machine and pilot in a safe environment, as well as satisfying your inner squid -- all for about the price of a speeding ticket (without the points on your license and insurance, though!) Listen in as Nate picks the brains of four experienced Track Day riders to learn about bike prep, what to expect, as well as how to avoid the common pitfalls of the first-time track rider. Marc, Ray, Duke, and Dave share their experiences over thousands of track miles -- from a street rider's perspective. So come on in to the Cafe -- we've got a corner booth waiting for you next to the boys... |

Track Day Advice
Fri, 07/06/2007 - 3:10am — AnonymousHi guys,
What a great show this one was! Well handled, well put together, excellent!
Nate did a great job as an interviewer, asking all the sorts of questions I would have wanted to ask from track day veterans, and the rest of the guys had lots of excellent advice, plus stuff I hadn't even thought of.
I also liked the fact that the show was edited as a straight discussion, no fake interjections for atmosphere. That worked really well, as the subject matter was strong enough to stand on its own. Outstanding job!
Now go off and do the same for dirtbike riding ;-)
Cheers,
Kropotkin
Good show
Fri, 07/06/2007 - 9:59pm — AnonymousTrack days are a lot of fun, and I agree Nate needs to get his VFR on the track!
Thanks for sharing a lot of good advice for track days - one thing briefly touched on was working out. Get in shape to ride and corner at track speeds.

Thanks, Guys!
Fri, 07/06/2007 - 11:23pm — AnonymousKropotkin, Rob, thanks for checking in! Glad you found the show both enjoyable, and informative.
I may see if I can do a track day this season, and do a "live" show while I'm at it. Thoughts?
Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it!
Cheers,
Nate

Sun, 07/08/2007 - 4:29pm — AnonymousExcellent show! I've been riding street bikes for 17 years and have always wanted to attend a track day and/or a riding school. I would consider myself a seasoned street rider having owned mostly sportbikes (save my CB650 Nighthawk) and having had the opportunity to ride in several countries moving around with the military. I've owned everything from an NSR50 to GSF400 Bandit, and moved on to FZR600 and then a ZX-7RR. I recently returned from a tour in Alaska and then a year in Iraq and picked up a brand new 2006 SV650S....excellent bike. I've owned faster motorcycles, but the SV is too much fun...kinda like my only other bike in the garage...a 84 RZ350. Both are a hoot to ride and give you that grin factor...one just has tons more engine braking than the other! Anyhow, I wasn't suprised to hear talk of the SV being a great track day bike...I can only agree. This latest podcast has really got the gears turning...if I could only pry myself away from my 2 year old long enough to make it happen. If I do, I feel you all answered some excellent questions and provided alot of sound advice on preparations and checklist of what to bring, spares, water, tools etc. Keep up the good work on the podcast...looking forward to future shows.

Great Show
Tue, 07/10/2007 - 3:10pm — AnonymousI had almost given up on sidestandcafe as unlistenable and now I'm glad that I didn't. This show was awesome. As a veteran of 40+ track days I can say that your comments were spot on. Great job.

Fri, 09/21/2007 - 12:03am — AnonymousHey guys, I've been lovin' the podcast. But my iTunes subscription didn't pick up the July 3rd edition. Now it's been 2.5 months since I last heard from y'all. I've gone from W. TX through NM, up through the heart of the Colorado peaks, through Flaming Gorge Pass in UT, up the Salmon River, along the Flathead Lake, across Glacier NP's Highway to the Sun, through Calgary, Banff, the Columbia Ice Fields, Jasper, white water rafted down the Thompson River, checked out the Vancouver Zoo, spent more time with my inlaws than any man should be expected...and you still haven't turned out another episode of Sidestand Cafe.
Um...
Tue, 09/25/2007 - 7:11pm — AnonymousIs that it? Are the shows done?
Going... going.. .gone?
Sat, 09/29/2007 - 6:11pm — AnonymousPod fading....? Just when it was getting good!
Come back!
Sat, 10/13/2007 - 5:20pm — AnonymousYou've got off to a great start. Keep going... Please.
WTF
Thu, 12/13/2007 - 5:28pm — AnonymousI loved the intro.
The show lacks character. I am not sure what is missing although listening to the podcast, it seems bland.
What is up with the show? Indefinate vacation? or is the listenership lacking? Why would the show be paused, and not cancelled?
It seems cancelled to me if I can't listen now.
Please make up your minds and restart it or cancel it!
Where did it go?
Fri, 01/25/2008 - 10:52pm — AnonymousI thought there would be some new shows crankin out but there hasn't been anything. Where'd the show go?
hiatus?
Fri, 02/15/2008 - 8:05pm — AnonymousI'm not too bright but, does a hiatus for an indefinite period mean gone forever or be back in future
